Custom Screener

Welcome to the onboarding guide for the Custom Screener feature in Elixia Health's MCT platform. This tool allows you to create tailored screening questions for your clinical trials, ensuring you gather the specific information needed for your projects.

Key Concepts

  • Custom Screener: A set of customizable questions added to your project to gather additional information from patients or sites.
  • Validation Rules: Ensure data quality and consistency by defining conditions that must be met for screener responses.

How To

Create a Custom Screening Form

  1. Log in as an Admin User

Open MCT and log in using your admin credentials.

  1. Access the Form Tab

Click on the "Form" tab in the navigation menu.

  1. Download an Existing Form (Optional)

If you want to use an existing form as a template, click on the download icon next to the form. This will save the form in XML format.

  1. Create a New Form

Click on the "New Screener Form" button to start creating a new form.

  1. Save the Form

Enter a name for your form and click "Save". You can change the form name later if needed.

  1. Upload the Form

Click on the "Upload Form" button and select the XML file you saved earlier (if you downloaded an existing form) or create a new XML file.

  1. Edit the Form

Click on the "Edit" icon to start modifying the form. You can change the question content, section text, and other settings as per your requirement.

  1. Upload External CSS Link and External Submit Destination (Optional)

If you want to customize the result page, upload the External CSS Link and External Submit Destination.

  1. Save and Review

Save your changes and review your custom screening form to ensure everything is set up correctly.

💡 Tip: Use the "Test Internal" and "Test External" hyperlinks to test the form before finalizing it.

Add Sections, Questions, and Set Conditional Logic

Adding Sections

  1. Log in to MCT as a Project Ops or Admin user.
  2. Click on the "Add New Section" button on the Sections page.
  3. Enter the section name and other required details.
  4. Click on the "Save" button to save the new section.

Adding Questions

  1. Log in to MCT as a Project Ops or Admin user.
  2. Click on the "Add New Question" button on the Questions page.
  3. Enter the question text and other required details.
  4. Choose the section for the question.
  5. Click on the "Save" button to save the new question.

Setting Conditional Logic

  1. Log in to MCT as a Project Ops or Admin user.
  2. Click on the "Edit" button next to the question you want to add conditional logic to.
  3. Scroll down to the "Conditional Logic" section.
  4. Click on the "Add Condition" button.
  5. Select the condition type (e.g., answer, variable, etc.).
  6. Enter the condition details and set the logic (e.g., if-then, etc.).
  7. Click on the "Save" button to save the condition.
  8. Repeat steps 4-7 to add more conditions.

Define Validation Rules and Publish Screeners

Defining Validation Rules

  1. In the MCT platform, navigate to the "Validation Rules" section under the "Config" dropdown menu.
  2. Click on the "New Rule" button to create a new rule.
  3. Select the "Hidden Form Adapter" as the destination section.
  4. Check the "Terminating" checkbox.
  5. Set the condition value to "No".
  6. Set the rule as per your requirement, such as setting the result to "DQ" if a user selects a certain answer.
  7. Configure the question by selecting the category, operator, and compare value.
  8. Click "Save" to save the rule.

Publishing Screeners

  1. Ensure you have defined the validation rules as described above.
  2. In the MCT platform, navigate to the "Screeners" section under the "Config" dropdown menu.
  3. Click on the "New Screener" button to create a new screener.
  4. Add questions to the screener as needed, including the site search question with the "SiteID" question variable.
  5. Configure the question types, question kinds, and referenced questions as needed.
  6. Save the screener.
  7. The screener will now be available for users to complete.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Always save your changes after adding a new section or question.
  • Use the "Filter" and "Search In" fields to quickly find specific sections or questions.
  • Test your screener using the "Test Internal" and "Test External" hyperlinks to ensure everything works as expected.
